ProtoCall is published by Armand de Beer. Vextral Systems and ProtoCall are project and product names, not separate contracting entities. Contact info@vextralsystems.com.
1. Acceptance
By downloading, installing or using the software, you agree to this licence and acknowledge the OT Safety & Authorised Use Notice. If you use the software for an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms for that organisation. If you do not agree, do not download or use the software.
2. Licence grant
The publisher grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, royalty-free licence to install and use the software for lawful internal evaluation, diagnostics, training, integration and commissioning on systems you own or are authorised to test.
3. Conditions and restrictions
- Do not use the software to access, scan, disrupt or test a system without the owner's explicit authority.
- Do not remove product, copyright, safety or third-party notices.
- Do not sell, sublicense, rent or host the software for third parties without written permission.
- Share the official download-page link rather than repackaging or mirroring a release.
- Do not bypass security controls or use the software to develop or deliver malicious functionality.
- Nothing in this licence restricts rights that applicable law says cannot be restricted, including lawful interoperability rights.
4. Product boundaries
Inspector is a read-only diagnostic and evidence tool. Emulator is a controlled test peer that may accept requests and generate protocol traffic according to its configured scenario. Neither product is a safety system, process-control system, certified test instrument or substitute for competent engineering judgement.
5. Ownership and third-party software
The publisher retains all rights in ProtoCall that are not expressly granted here. Third-party components remain subject to their own licence terms. Those terms and notices are included in the release archive and take precedence for the relevant third-party component.
6. Test-build status, updates and support
The software is an evolving free test build. Features, file formats and protocol behaviour may change. No uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every device implementation or individual support response is promised. Security or maintenance updates may replace a published build; always verify the version and checksum.
7. Warranty and responsibility
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the software is provided "as is" and without warranties beyond any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. You are responsible for authorisation, backups, network selection, test planning, change control and assessing operational consequences before use.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of production, profit, opportunity or data arising from use of the software. Nothing in this licence excludes or limits liability, remedies or statutory rights that applicable law does not permit to be excluded or limited.
9. Termination and governing law
This licence ends automatically if you materially breach it. On termination, stop using the software and remove copies under your control, except where retention is legally required. These terms are governed by Irish law, without depriving a consumer of mandatory protections that apply in their country of residence.
